Association Meeting Minutes
Introduction: Introductions were made
Presidents Report:
Don explained how we would like to have carryover officers for the next year. It was explained that it is extremely hard to have all new officers starting a new year and that it was better to have at least two officers carryover so that the transition would be smoother. Everyone agreed that we should proceed towards this goal.Don stated that since our last meeting no one has shown interest in the co-chairman’s position and therefore felt it would be good if John Bernal step up to this position. Brian Borjas nominated John and Terry Murphy seconded the nomination.
Old Business:
There was no old business open for discussionNew Business:
It was discussed that we currently had about 27 current members, with more that were still to be confirmed. It was discussed that we need to do more to increase our membership. Brian volunteered to speak with vendors at the upcoming Mining Expo. It was also discussed about displaying the 3 gears logo at the Mine Expo in the vendor’s booths who were already members.Website:
Don and Brian discussed the website and how they felt it could work for our benefit. It was decided that we would improve our portion of the site by the next meeting. Brian will head up the improvements of the website and will meet with Bob Frayser to have the improvements made. For the Featured Supplier portion it was decided that the first company up would be Western Mining Supply and that for the New Product portion the first company would be Mesabi. Brian stated that he would get with Bob and track the progress on a monthly basis to see if there is improved activity to the site.Meeting Flyers:
It was discussed that several members were unaware that our meeting was scheduled for tonight. We adopted that we would make a flyer to hand out so that everyone would know when and where the meetings were. We also discussed that we would send out multiple e-mail notices so that the meetings would not be forgotten.Reno Meeting:
The Reno meeting was discussed and the suggestion of obtaining outside help from both Vendors and Business’s would be a good idea.Meeting Concluded.
