Association Meeting Minutes
Introduction: Introductions
were made, and new agenda guidelines and rules were presented. It was explained that we set the new rules
and guidelines in order to have more productive meetings that the members could
gather value from.
New Guidelines and Rules:
·
There will be no Alcohol
allowed during the course of the meetings.
·
Only one person will
speak at a time.
·
Stick to the agenda at
hand for the meeting.
·
Cellular phones and
Pagers will be turned off during the meetings.
·
All meetings will begin
and end on time.
Presidents Report: Don
explained that it was time again to vote in new officers for the next two
years. He explained that due to the
problems with changing over the bank information he would like to move down to
the Treasurers slot so that we would not have to make any changes. The members
agreed and Don will move into the Treasurers slot.
Don put out to vote the
nomination of Brian Borjas of Hurberries, Inc. to move into the vacant slot of
Co-Chairman, Torrey Walker of Granberry Supply to move into the other vacant
slot of Co-Chairman and Warren Whitten of Rocky Mountain Brake to move into the
vacant slot of Secretary. The members
voted unanimously on the nominations.
Old Business: There
was no old business open for discussion.
New Business: Brian
explained that we were starting to get some good use out of the website,
specifically the Featured Supplier and the New Product categories. He explained
that we are starting to rotate member companies in each category for a
thirty-day period so that each member has an opportunity to be showcased on the
site. He explained the need to utilize
the other categories on the site so that it may benefit us all. Brian asked for volunteers for the next
three months for each category they are as follows:
*Featured Supplier:
Granberry Supply, Brake Supply & RMMS
*New Product: Open
Loop, Hurberries, Inc. & Industrial Plating and Grinding.

Brian and Don explained
that we are starting a new procedure for contacting members for meeting and
hospitalities. We will be sending out
mass emails well in
Advance of the meetings as
well as posting flyers at local business’s and mines so that there is no
confusion as to when and where the meetings are taking place.
Brian, Torrey, Warren and
Don also explained that we wanted to see our meetings run like those of the
Surface and Underground groups. We
asked for topics and volunteers for our next meeting that would like to do a
presentation that would be beneficial to the entire group. Terry Taylor of Western Mine Supply agreed
to do a presentation on Back Safety, Brandie Nolstine of P & H agreed to give
a presentation on the Arizona Chapter of the Suppliers Association, Brian
Borjas of Hurberries, Inc. agreed to give a presentation on the Rocky Mountain
Master Mechanics.
Guest Speaker: Bob
Frayser Co-Chairman of the Western Regional Master Mechanics Association put on
a presentation to the group on ways to make our association run smoother and
give more value to our members. The
following were some of the key points to the presentation.
*Find a way to give value
to yourselves as an association and to the Master Mechanics.
*Create
a load share co-op between yourselves for taking and picking up parts for the
mines.
*Find a way to address and overcome day-to-day problems
that each of you encounter on the mines you are traveling to.
*Find a way to be environmentally conscious, for example
wash your company trucks after leaving the mines so that they don’t leave a
muddy mess in your driveway or office parking lot.
*Encourage members to be load and road safe.
*Participate in community projects together as a group.
